The Hague, The Netherlands
Booyabase, a.k.a. Remko Koopman (b. 1974) is a Dutch graphic designer and artist from Leiden, The Netherlands. Heavily influenced by the pioneering days of the 1980s Dutch graffiti culture, his work is characterised by retro-futuristic, industrial images. The images often reflect post-apocalyptic sceneries with rogue machinery and factories gone bad. Booyabase is the name of the art collective Koopman founded in 2006, together with friend and fellow artist Tamme de Boer. The work featured here was recently published in 'Progress - Build and destroy'.
