Alessandro Pautasso

Turin, Italy

Alessandro Pautasso, aka Kaneda from Turin - Italy (30 July 1982) is a graphic designer and illustrator whose specialty lies in vector art and mixed media. He began drawing when he was a child under the guidance of his mother, a painter. It was when Alessandro discovered an illustration book about the Beatles by Alan Aldridge that he realized that he wanted to become a designer/illustrator. Attracted by the visual arts, he started working in the field of commercial art while simultaneously focusing on the so-called digital art. Portraits are always present in his works; in his last series he tried to bring up to date, and reinterpret the icons of old Hollywood, reproducing portraits of John Wayne, Greta Garbo, Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe and many others, breaking down their faces into abstract geometric shapes using strong bright colors that attempt to revive the colors of the past.
